Nina White was the seventh child of Sarah (Glick) and Isaac Clayman and was born in Leeds on 12th June 1917
She was educated at Cowper St school and on leaving school went to work as a wages clerk and administrator at Sumries the tailors
Later probably before the war she  changed jobs and went to work at Leeds City Station again in wages and admin.
She had a tremendous acumen for maths and if the system would have permitted and finances would have stretched she could have gone on for further education specialising in this field and today would have been a whiz in computing. This wasn’t to be but she met her future husband Victor in 1946 and they got engaged after a six weeks courtship. They married in 1947 at the New Synagogue Chapeltown Red in Leeds. Two years later their only son Raymond was born
Nina was a wonderful homemaker , an excellent cook and baker ,and had the most placid nature imaginable. She never got ruffled and had the greatest amount of patience especially with children. Together with Victor they celebrated sixty three years of marriage until sadly he died in 2011. Her last few years were spent surrounded by her family especially her son daughter in law Francine grandson Lee and Laura his wife, both in her flat and for her last year at Donnisthorpe Hall. She left a great legacy and was tremendously inspirational.
